The Six Points Fellowship for Emerging Jewish Artists recently announced its 2010 New York City cohort. Nine artists were selected, all of whom are working on an original project that explores a thoughtful connection to Jewish ideas and Jewish cultural expression. Their projects range from a rock opera about Bernie Madoff, to a graphic novel exploring the classic advice column from the Yiddish Forward newspaper, to a theatrical thriller dealing with anti-Semitic medieval beliefs about Jewish male menstruation. Spanning the genres of visual art, performing art and music, the nine artists represent an exciting mix of flourishing Jewish culture in New York City.

Six Points Fellowship Continues in 2009-10

The Six Points Fellowship for Emerging Jewish Artists has received support for a second artist cohort in New York City through a renewable grant from UJA-Federation of New York.

In collaboration with our partners from the Foundation for Jewish Culture and JDub Records, we will be spending the next 6-12 months in a serious planning and evaluation process, ramping up to the next phase of the Six Points Fellowship, and we will be releasing an RFP for Cohort 2 at the end of that period. We are also in an expansion planning and exploration process supported by the Morningstar Foundation and The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles to evaluate and plan for Six Points Fellowship artist cohorts beyond the New York City area.
