Naturalized
Overview
Naturalized, by writer and director, Julia Kots, humorously portrays the mixed reaction of a young Russian's man family to his decision to undergo the ultimate male Jewish rite - circumcision. This witty, sharp dialogued film addresses with a superb eye how contemporary life has come to shape our understanding of ancient rituals, and most of all, what it takes to be Jewish. Naturalized was the grand-prize winner at the 2006 New York Jewish Student Film Festival and has been an official selection at numerous prestigious film festivals world-wide.
